HURRICANE ISSAC !!!

Elder Justin Brimhall is safe with many other Elders that have been evacuated from there assigned areas in the mission to safer grounds in  the mission.

Justin sent us email on Sunday informing us that they were on stand by;  pending the decision of the brethren.    They are currently residing in the cultural hall near the mission president in Tallahassee.

President Jensen or his wife; has also kept us up to date every 4-6 hours pending the storms activities. We did receive email this afternoon from Justin.  He let us know that they were in Tally.  Justin says they should be able to return to Pensacola sometime on Thursday, depending on what the storm decides to do.

Sister Jensen said it is quite entertaining seeing the Elders all excited with this crazy storm.  Justin told us he will have no problem finding things to do until they get to return.  President Jensen did challenge all of them to see if they could read the Book of Mormon while they were all gathered.

Justin is at least getting consistent on late emails.  Justin did share a few pictures with us in last letter home; will see what to share.  Seems the local college changed there hours on the Elders in the midst of students coming back; thus the Elders ended up with there computer time on a members computer while at there dinner appointment for the evening.  Justin tells us that the work in Pensacola is chuggin' along.  It has continued to be stormy & wet.  Makes for long boring week in the apartment; you can only update the roster & books so much.  The members are taking good care of us; Justin said he only had to purchase minimal groceries this week.  Said he would see what he could do as sending some of there storms to Utah to help with the heat & fires.

Adventures Continue in P-Cola.

Greetings from P-Cola ....
Everyone was on the delay this week I guess.  Justin was late with his email last week; however we did get emails on time this week.  It seems that there was some minor hiccups.  Not really hiccups, but tis the season for stormy weather in the state of Florida.  Last weeks prep. day was kinda dampened; literally by thunderstorms; banning all activity till storm had passed.  Once we could leave the apartment, we ended finding that the library closes at 5pm since school is off term.  Tuesday was Justin's first   district meeting as the new district leader.  It went really well; and he seemed quite pleased with himself.  He also got to do baptismal interviews for the senior couples candidates for baptism.  Getting a bit of responsibility as a district leader...It is good for him.

Wednesday finally made it with some free time; Justin headed to the library to finally get emails and reports out to the mission president & family.  However, at the library; The Elders had troubles with the library card; after all it has only been passed from Elder to Elder to Elder through the apartment.  The librarian that day was not our usual librarian.  (The librarian there on Mondays, knows the Elders & just lets them in.) She wanted the usual proof of residency, etc; All they had were had written letter from home; librarian wanted utility bills and such in there names; finally she just gave them a "courtesy guest" pass for the day.  Alas; last weeks delay.

For this week;  "Warm and wet greetings from P-cola"   This week we have had a storm practically every day.  But persevere the Elders will.  Awesome experience this week.  Justin & Elder Carlson were at a members house for a dinner appointment; they had also invited a non-member friend over for a priesthood blessing for some issues with medical conditions.  Justin stated as he sealed the anointment; the spirit was exceptionally strong ; and the lady was very receptive to the spirit and she was pretty much speechless after the blessing.  She  was touched.  They will be teaching her this coming week with the member.  Justin was super excited.

Great for that to occupy some of the Elders time this past week; Justin said it was starting to get boring camping in the apartment most the week due to the thunder storms.
